The Honorary Consulate of Monaco in Miami is the official representative of the government of the Principality of Monaco in Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Its main functions are to assist citizens of Monaco who require any kind of assistance, and to promote trade and cultural activities between the people and institutions of the Principality and the people and institutions of the states under its jurisdiction.

Mr. Tomas Abreu is the Honorary Consul of the Principality of Monaco in Miami. He was appointed Honorary Vice Consul on August 20th, 2009, and Honorary Consul on July 6th, 2015 by Sovereign Ordinances signed by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.
Mr. Abreu received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Simon Bolivar University in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1979 and an MBA from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma in 1983.
Mr. Abreu started his career with Citibank, N.A. in Venezuela in 1984 as a credit officer in the corporate bank. In 1986 he was transferred to Citibank International in Miami to become part of a newly formed unit that provided banking services to Latin American and Caribbean corporations. As an Assistant Vice President he was responsible for cash management and credit products, was a member of the Credit Committee, and was the officer in charge of Credit Administration. During this period, Mr. Abreu traveled extensively throughout Latin America. In 1992 he left Citibank and formed a company that exported U.S. products to Latin America.
In 1996 he became founder and CEO of Continental Hospitality, Inc., a hotel holding company that owned the Best Western Mayan Inn Beachfront in Daytona Beach, Florida. That hotel was sold in 2005 and since then Mr. Abreu has been semi-retired.
He is an Associate Member of the World Federation of Consuls (FICAC), is currently the Vice Chairman of the Consular and Trade Representatives Committee of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, and was on the Board of the Miami Bach Society until December of 2014.
Mr. Abreu is an avid photographer and is fluent in English and Spanish and proficient in French. He is married and has two sons.
